Medical Assistant – Bullhead City

Oncology Las Vegas is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at our Bullhead City location. This role supports clinical flow, patient care, and daily office operations in a specialized radiation oncology practice.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Flow & Patient Rooming:

  • Room patients for consults, follow-ups, and status checks.
  • Record accurate vital signs, symptoms, medication updates, and treatment-specific pain levels.
  • Prepare patients for specialized exams (e.g., breast, pelvic/GYN) based on provider preferences.

Administrative & Checkout Coordination:

  • Schedule follow-ups, CT simulations, and brachytherapy/HDR appointments.
  • Ensure mandatory informed consents are completed and scanned into the system.
  • Distribute clinical protocols and log specialized appointment requirements.

Chart Prep & Documentation:

  • Conduct comprehensive daily chart prep, ensuring all external labs, imaging, and testing reports are in the system before the patient arrives.
  • Proactively manage the daily nursing task pad, journal all patient interactions, and handle prescription refill requests.

Clinic Maintenance & Safety Compliance:

  • Prepare, stock, and sanitize examination rooms daily.
  • Maintain compliance logs for cleaning solutions (OPA, enzymatic) and temperature checks required for specialized equipment.
  • Provide daily status checklists to Radiation Therapy Technologists (RTTs).

Patient Triage & Communication:

  • Act as a first point of contact for patient phone calls, managing general questions and escalating complex clinical concerns or medication needs directly to providers.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Previous experience in an oncology, radiation therapy, or specialized surgical practice preferred but not necessary.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR), medical charting, and complex clinical scheduling.
  • Attributes: Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
