Dr. Nathan Jones, DO
Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Nathan Jones, DO, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics. He then attended medical school at A.T. Still University, a recipient of the U.S. Army Health Professions Scholarship Program. Following medical school, he served as a field surgeon with the U.S. Army’s 4th Infantry Division.
After completing his specialty training, Dr. Jones practiced at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and San Antonio Military Medical Center, serving as Deputy Clinic Chief at both institutions. Following his military service, he joined the Herbert-Herman Cancer Center at the University of Michigan Health–Sparrow, where he served as Chief of Radiation Therapy.
Dr. Jones is experienced in a full range of radiation treatment modalities, including three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), proton therapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), Gamma Knife radiosurgery, high-dose-rate brachytherapy, permanent interstitial brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), adaptive radiation therapy, MRI-guided radiation therapy, and radioactive iodine therapy.
He has a special interest in treating a broad range of malignancies, including lung, genitourinary (including prostate), breast, brain, head and neck, and gynecologic cancers. Dr. Jones is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology.
When he is not in the clinic, Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with his wife and five children. His interests include playing music, running, hiking, biking, and participating in a variety of outdoor activities. He is also actively involved in his local church and other community organizations.
